What is a subscription?

Hello Chef is a regular service, where you receive a box of fresh ingredients and delicious recipes every week. However, if you wish to skip one or multiple weeks this option is available to you, as long as you skip before your automated cut-off time on Thursdays at 12 noon (for Saturday and Sunday deliveries) and Saturdays at 12 noon (for Monday deliveries). Simply log in to ‘My Account’ to do so.

 

Will I be locked into a contract?

No way! We offer a flexible plan where you are in charge. You can change, skip, or cancel whenever you want. Just let us know before your automated cut-off time on Thursdays at 12 noon (for Saturday and Sunday deliveries) or Saturdays at 12 noon (for Monday deliveries) so we can alert our suppliers.

 

How do I cancel my subscription?

  1. Login to your Hello Chef account.
  2. Click on My Account (located on the upper right hand corner of the website).
  3. Look for the Active subscription you’d like to modify then click on “View/Edit” button.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom part of the page and you’ll find the “Cancel Your Subscription” button.
  5. Click ‘Yes’ and please wait a moment to ensure the cancellation occurs.

 

Managing My Account

How to change my meal plan?

  1. Login in to your Hello Chef Account.
  2. Click on My Account (located on the upper right hand corner of the website).
  3. Look for the Active subscription you’d like to modify then click on “View/Edit” button.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom part of the page and look for “Change Meal Plan” option.
  5. Select the your preferred Meal Plan and click on “Change to New Plan”

How to change my delivery day/time?

  1. If you wish to modify an order you’ve just paid for, please contact hello@hellochef.me
  2. To modify upcoming orders, please follow the following steps:
  • Log in to your Hello Chef Account.
  • Click on My Account (located on the upper right hand corner).
  • Look for the Active Subscription you’d like to modify then click on “View/Edit” button.
  • Scroll down to the bottom part of the page and look for “Change Delivery Day” or “Change Delivery Time (whichever you are trying to modify) option.
  • Select your preferred Delivery Date/Time and click on “Save Delivery Day and Time”.

How do I skip deliveries?

  1. Login to your Hello Chef Account.
  2. Click on My Account (located on the upper right hand corner).
  3. Look for the Active Subscription you’d like to modify then click on “View/Edit” button.
  4. Find “Upcoming Orders” and you will see your upcoming weekly deliveries. Beside each corresponding delivery date, you will see the status.
  5. Click on “Skip this week” button. Here you’ll be able to skip future orders. You’ll be able to skip up to 16 weeks at a time (e.g. holidays/long breaks).

How do I update my payment details?

  1. Login to your Hello Chef account with your username and password.
  2. Click on My Account (located on the upper right hand corner).
  3. Look for the Active Subscription you’d like to modify then click on “View/Edit” button.
  4. Choose “Change Payment Method” near the bottom of your account page.
  5. Proceed to pay for the next week’s box (note: Your next scheduled auto-renewal payment will be on the following week)

How do I reactivate my subscription?

  1. Go to hellochef.me
  2. Click Log-In on the top right hand side of the page and enter your login details (username and password)
  3. Go to the Meal plan page (top left of the screen)
  4. Choose your box and click “Get Started”
  5. If you have a coupon code, type and apply your coupon code at the top of the checkout page.
  6. Ensure your delivery address and payment details are correct, and click “Submit”
  7. Enter your card details to pay.

How do I choose my recipes (for Low Carb subscribers)?

Our Low Carb subscribers have the option to choose between 6 available recipes by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Hello Chef account
  2. Find your Active Low Carb subscription and find the button that says “Choose Recipes”       (this button is beside “View/Edit)
  3. Click on “Choose Recipes” and you will be routed to the My Menu page wherein it displays the menu for each week (there’s also a back and forward button on the page should you want to view the previous weeks and future weeks choices)
  4. Scroll down and you will find the button that says “Edit Selection”. Click on this to be routed to the selections page.
  5. Select your choices and click on “Save”. You’ll know that selections are properly saved as it will have a green tick mark at the top right hand of the recipe picture.

 

How It Works

 

How do Hello Chef meals work?

Hello Chef delivers all the fresh ingredients you need to make delicious meals in exactly the right proportions. We make it as easy as possible for you to prepare delicious, inventive meals at home. Each week, we do the menu planning and shopping, and deliver recipes right to your door with all the fresh, portioned ingredients you need to cook them. This saves you the hassle of meal planning, shopping, and coming up with delicious easy-to-cook recipes. All you have to do is choose the size of the pack that suits you, cook and enjoy! You can skip any week’s delivery in advance or cancel at any time.

What comes with the order?

The freshest ingredients we can source from our varied suppliers, coupled with step-by-step instructions on how to prepare each meal. Every week our recipes change, so you can try different cuisines.

Do I need to wash my vegetables and herbs?

Yes – we don’t wash vegetables and herbs, as this reduces their shelf-life. It’s best to wash them just before they are used for the recipe.

 

Payments

When will I be charged?

Once you sign up for your first Hello Chef box you will be charged right away. For all subsequent deliveries, you will be charged on Thursdays at noon (Saturday and Sunday delivery) or Saturdays at noon (Monday delivery), as long as you haven’t skipped your order or cancelled your subscription.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Hello Chef is a regular flexible service, where customers receive our boxes weekly. We are a subscription based service and your meal plans automatically renew every Thursday 12:00 noon (for Saturday and Sunday delivery) or Saturday noon (for Monday delivery). We accept payments via VISA and Mastercard which are to be registered upon signing up for automatic payments.

Can I pay via cash on delivery?

We currently only take payments online.

 

Delivery

How does delivery work?

Each week we deliver on Saturday,  Sunday, or Monday at the day and time you have  selected. For Saturday and Sunday deliveries, your payment will be processed at 12 noon on the Thursday prior to your delivery. For Monday delivery, your payment will be processed at 12 noon on the Saturday prior to your delivery.

Can I skip my delivery for a week?

Yes, after you have received your first delivery you are completely free to skip weeks or change your subscription. Managing your deliveries is easy and done online. All we ask is that you make any changes to your subscription before your next payment is processed.

Do I have to pay for delivery?

Delivery is free for Dubai, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah. Currently we have AED 15 delivery charge for Abu Dhabi.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver everywhere within Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah and we’re still expanding! Sign up for our newsletter for updates on our new delivery areas.

What time is my box coming?

Can I get my box bi-weekly?

Yes, you can! All you need to do skip the deliveries bi-weekly via your account page. To do that, you may follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your Hello Chef Account.
  2. Click on My Account (located on the upper right hand corner of the website).
  3. Look for the Active subscription you’d like to modify then click on “View/Edit” button.
  4. Find “Upcoming Orders” and you will see your upcoming weekly deliveries. Beside each corresponding delivery date, you will see the status.

What will I do if I have last minute changes for my upcoming delivery schedule?

How should I store my food?

To ensure that all the ingredients stay fresh, our recipe cards come with a cooking order to maintain maximum freshness. As all the ingredients are fresh they can be frozen in case you want to change the cooking order. For more details on storing your food, please refer to www.hellochef.me/storage

What satisfaction guarantee do you offer?

If there is something missing from your delivery or something has gone off, please contact us at hello@hellochef.me. We will credit you twice the value of the missing or defective items in your next order.

How much does Hello Chef cost?

Our prices starts from 29 AED per meal. We have multiple pricing options for different needs. Delivery is free for Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah and 15 AED for Abu Dhabi.

Are Hello Chef products organic and non-GMO?

Although we’re not certified organic, we only use fresh and high quality ingredients to go in your box.

Are Hello Chef products gluten free?

Our Low Carb box offers wheat-free and low-gluten meals. It’s not entirely gluten free but ideal for managing weight as we provide healthy and nutrient-rich food. You can choose 4 among our 6 delicious recipes to go in your Hello Chef box.

Does your product contain peanuts or tree nuts?

Some of our recipes do include nuts. However, we pack the nuts separately. Please bear in mind that our ingredients are packed in a facility that may contain traces of allergens.

Extra Caution: If you have serious nut allergies, it’s best to avoid our boxes as we can’t guarantee that there won’t be any cross-contamination. We have shared processing lines and equipment in our kitchen.

I just signed up, what now?

Welcome to Hello Chef, we’re so excited to be cooking with you! Here are a few things we recommend you do after signup:

 

  1. Get familiar with your account: log in to ‘My Account’ to manage all aspects of your deliveries, including upcoming orders, skipping particular weeks, as well as your order history.
  2. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram or sign up to our newsletter to receive great cooking tips, learn about exclusive experiences and contests we’re hosting, and to stay in touch with others that simply enjoy cooking good food.

Can you trust a skinny chef?

Yes you can! While butter and carbs still make it to our packs sometimes, our varied and balanced recipes should never leave you feeling guilty.

Can I choose my recipes?

Our Low-Carb Box subscribers have the option to choose 4 out of 6 options of meals every week with these easy steps (https://www.facebook.com/hellochef.me/videos/855603477951697/)

  • Login to your Hello Chef Account.
  • Click on My Account (located on the upper right hand corner of the website).
  • Look for the Active Low Carb Box subscription then click on “Choose Recipes” button.
  • On the My Menu page, scroll down and click on “Edit Selection” button.
  • Select 4 recipes you’d like to include in your box.
  • Click on “Save” to ensure changes will be applied.

Currently we don’t have option to choose for our Family and Veggie Meal Plans. However, we are closely looking into it and we will let you know once it becomes available.

Can I swap between boxes?

We’d love a little variety at times! That’s why swapping between boxes is feasible for you. You can swap between boxes on a weekly basis. All we ask from you is to do it before the cut off 12noon Thursday (for Saturday and Sunday delivery) or 12noon Saturday (for Monday delivery only).

How do I refer my friends?

We appreciate that you’d love to spread the good news about us! We can’t wait for your friends/colleagues and family members to enjoy cooking with us.

Now that you have an active subscription, the red hyperlink (Invite Friends) on your ‘refer a friend’ page is active and it will automatically provide your friends the discount and link the order to your account. For each friend that makes a purchase using your link, you will bank AED100 on your Hello Chef account. Each referral bonus will be deducted one at a time automatically from your future orders.

Can I substitute ingredients that I am allergic to/ don’t want in the box?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to cater to individual ingredient preferences at the moment. As a result, we are not able to specifically customers our boxes for customers who have allergies or dietary restrictions. For the Low Carb Box we have 6 options so we hope that you will be able to find recipes that you will enjoy and you can plan your meals in advance.

Can I choose my recipes from across all the different boxes?

Unfortunately not at the moment. You may want to try getting the Low Carb Box as we have 6 options so I hope that you will be able to find recipes that you will enjoy and you can plan your meals in advance.

Can I get a box for 1 person?

We currently don’t have a box designed for 1 person only. Having said that, many of our customers that eat alone order the 2-person box, eating the first meal for each recipe in the evening and the second for lunch the next day.
