Instructions

1 Prep sauce

Peel and grate apple. In a bowl mix the apple with soy sauce, sesame oil and chilli flakes.

2 Prep veggies

Peel and cut carrots to strips, wash and cut yellow pepper to strips. Peel and mince garlic and ginger.

3 Toast sesame seeds

Toast sesame seeds on a dry hot pan for 2–4 minutes until nicely browned. Remove from the pan and keep aside.

4 Fry beef

Add a little oil on the pan and fry the garlic and ginger for 2 minutes until they become fragrant. Then add beef mince and fry for 4–5 minutes until nicely browned. Set aside.

5 Fry veggies

Add a bit of oil, if needed. Fry carrots and peppers for 4 minutes until slightly softened. Pour the sauce to the pan. Season with salt. Stir. Transfer the beef back to the pan and fry for 2–3 minutes until cooked.

6 Cook noodles

Meanwhile, bring a pot of water to boil. Cook the noodles for 2 minutes. Drain and serve with the beef and vegetables. Top with toasted sesame seeds and freshly sliced spring onion.

Tips for fussy eaters

Keep the spices mild.

Pro tip

In case your apples are not sweet enough, add a pinch of brown sugar in the sauce.
