Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.

Instructions

Prep

1 Prep

  • Peel and finely chop the onion.
Fry sausage

2 Fry sausage

  • Use a sharp knife to cut each sausage into thirds.
  • Heat a non-stick pan over high heat with a drizzle of oil.
  • Fry the sausage for 3-4 min or until browned.
  • Lower the heat to medium.
  • Add the onion and continue cooking for another 3-4 min until the onions have softened.
Add orzo

3 Add orzo

  • Add the garlic, a pinch of chilli flakes (spicy!) and the orzo.
  • Stir for 30 seconds to coat the orzo.
Tip! Cooking for the kids? Leave out the chilli flakes.
Add liquid

4 Add liquid

  • Add 0.5 stock cube and measured water.
  • Add the cream and mix thorugh.
  • Once it starts to bubble, reduce the heat to medium-low, continue cooking for 10 min, uncovered, stirring often to prevent sticking.
Tip! Add a splash of water if the orzo starts to stick before it's fully cooked.
Add spinach

5 Add spinach

  • Once cooked, take off the heat and stir in the baby spinach.
  • Adjust seasoning with a pinch of salt and pepper, to taste.
Serve

6 Serve

  • Pick a handful of parsley leaves.
  • Serve the Creamy Italian Sausage Orzo with Baby Spinach garnished with fresh parsley.
