Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Prep
If using the air fryer, preheat to 180°C.
Drain the halloumi and pat dry. Cut into thin rectangular portions, 0.5cm thick.
In a large bowl, combine the pankocrumbs and sesameseeds.
In a second bowl or shallow plate, add the flour.
In a third bowl or shallow plate, whisk the egg.
2 Coat
Dip each slice of halloumi into the flour, shaking any excess.
Next dip the slice into the whisked egg, shaking off the excess.
Lastly, coat in the pankocrumb, pressing firmly to coat.
3 Fry
Heat a large pan over medium heat with a generous of drizzle of oil.
Fry for 5-8 min until golden brown on both sides.
Alternatively, add to the air fryer basket with a drizzle or spray of oil.
Air fry for 8-10 min until the crumb is crispy and golden brown, flipping half way through.
4 Warm honey
Meanwhile, in a small pan, gently heat the honey with a pinch of chilliflakes(spicy!) over low heat.
Stir to combine and do not boil.
Alternatively, heat the honey in the microwave in short bursts.
Tip!Sensitive to spice? Go easy on the chilli flakes.
5 Serve
