Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Cook noodles
Boil a kettle.
In a large bowl or pan, add the noodles. Cover with the boiled water.
Allow to soak for 10 min then rinse and drain.
Set aside until step 5.
Tip!Drizzle the noodles with a small amount of oil to help prevent them sticking.
2 Prep
Meanwhile, boil the measuredwater.
Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
Peel and cut the carrot into thin matchsticks.
Finely shred the cabbage.
Finely slice the springonions.
In a small bowl, combine the darksoysauce, sweetsoysauce, oystersauce, gingergarlicpaste, sesameoil, ricevinegar and sugar.
In a jug, mix the boiled measured water with 0.5< stockcube.
3 Make curry sauce
Heat a pan over a medium heat.
Melt the butter.
Add the cornstarch, currypowder, Chinese5spice, garlicpowder and turmeric.
Fry for 1 min until fragrant.
Turn the heat down.
Slowly add the stock whisking constantly for 2-3 min until thickened.
4 Fry
Heat a large frying pan over a medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
Fry the chicken for 5-7 min until golden and cooked through.
Add the carrot, cabbage and half of the springonions (saving the rest for ganrish).
Fry for 2-3 min.
5 Finish stir-fry
Add the noodles and beansprouts.
Fry for 1-2 min.
Pour over the soysaucemixture and toss to coat.
Fry for a further 1-2 min.
6 Serve
Serve the English Style Chicken Chow Mein with the CurrySauce on the side.
Garnish with the remaining springonions.
