Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.

Instructions

Cook noodles

1 Cook noodles

  • Boil a kettle.
  • In a large bowl or pan, add the noodles. Cover with the boiled water.
  • Allow to soak for 10 min then rinse and drain.
  • Set aside until step 5.
Tip! Drizzle the noodles with a small amount of oil to help prevent them sticking.
Prep

2 Prep

  • Meanwhile, boil the measured water.
  • Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  • Peel and cut the carrot into thin matchsticks.
  • Finely shred the cabbage.
  • Finely slice the spring onions.
  • In a small bowl, combine the dark soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, ginger garlic paste, sesame oil, rice vinegar and sugar.
  • In a jug, mix the boiled measured water with 0.5< stock cube.
Make curry sauce

3 Make curry sauce

  • Heat a pan over a medium heat.
  • Melt the butter.
  • Add the corn starch, curry powder, Chinese 5 spice, garlic powder and turmeric.
  • Fry for 1 min until fragrant.
  • Turn the heat down.
  • Slowly add the stock whisking constantly for 2-3 min until thickened.
Fry

  • Heat a large frying pan over a medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
  • Fry the chicken for 5-7 min until golden and cooked through.
  • Add the carrot, cabbage and half of the spring onions (saving the rest for ganrish).
  • Fry for 2-3 min.
Finish stir-fry

5 Finish stir-fry

  • Add the noodles and bean sprouts.
  • Fry for 1-2 min.
  • Pour over the soy sauce mixture and toss to coat.
  • Fry for a further 1-2 min.
Serve

6 Serve

  • Serve the English Style Chicken Chow Mein with the Curry Sauce on the side.
  • Garnish with the remaining spring onions.
