Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Cook quinoa
Rinse the quinoa in warm water.
Drain in a fine sieve.
Bring the measuredwater to boil in a pot.
Add the quinoa and a pinch of salt.
Cover with a lid and reduce the heat to low.
Simmer for 12-15 min or until the liquid is absorbed and the quinoa is tender.
Transfer to a bowl, cover and refrigerate to chill.
Tip!Washing quinoa with warm water before draining it removes the bitter-tasting saponins from its surface.
2 Prep Tuna
Slice the Tuna into half across, and into medium cubes.
Add the sesame seeds on a plate and press one side of each Tuna cube into it.
3 Fry Tuna
Heat a large pan over medium high heat with a small drizzle of oil.
Fry the almondflakes until golden, and set aside.
Fry the tuna, (sesame seeds down) for 2 min until golden and crispy.
Flip over and cook for 1-2 min on the other side.
Transfer to a plate, cover and refrigerate to chill.
4 Prep vegetables
Meanwhile, slice the cucumbers in half moons.
Slice the cherrytomatoes in half.
Peel and grate the carrots
Trim and chop the spring onions.
Pick the coriander.
In a large bowl, toss the vegetables together.
5 Prep
Trim, wash, and dry the bostonlettuce.
In a small bowl, whisk the soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger paste, sesamedressing, and honey.
6 Serve
Arrange with the Bostonlettuce at the bottom, followed by the Quinoa, Salad Vegetables, and chilled Tuna.
Serve the FreshTunaQuinoa Salad, drizzle over the CreamySesameDressing and garnish with Almond Flakes.
