Instructions
1 Make fries
Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan. Slice the sweet potatoes (skins on) into fries. Add the fries to a large baking tray with a drizzle of vegetableoil and a generous pinch of salt. Toss until fully coated. Bake for 25-30 min or until golden and crisp.
2 Fry onions
Meanwhile, heat a non-stick pan over a medium-high heat. Peel and slice the onions. Once hot, add the butter, onions and salt. Fry over a medium heat for 15 min or until softened and starting to brown. Add the honey. Mix and set aside.
3 Make secret sauce
Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershiresauce, chipotlepowder(spicy!) and garlicpowder. This is your secret sauce. Grate the cheddarcheese.
4 Make patties
Add the beefbacon to a cold pan and place over a medium heat. Fry the bacon for 5 min until the fat has melted and the bacon is crispy. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with kitchen paper. Reserve the pan (no need to clean it). Combine the beefmince with the marmite and black pepper. With clean hands, knead the meat mixture until soft and fully combined. Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
5 Fry patties
Return the bacon pan to a medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and fry for 4 min on each side or until browned and cooked through. Top each patty with the onion and grated cheddar. Cover with a lid and cook for 1 min further or until the cheese has melted.
6 Assemble
Cut the iceberg lettuce in half and separate the leaves. Load the iceberglettuce with the secretsauce, top with the burger patties and crispy beef bacon. Serve the sweetpotatofries on the side.
