Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Prep cardamom
Split the cardamom pods open with the back of a knife.
Tip!Splitting the cardamom pod cracks it open so the aromatic seeds are exposed, allowing their essential oils to infuse more fully and quickly into the milk.
2 Simmer pudding
In a small pot, add the milk, whippingcream, sugar, cornstarch and cardamompods.
Whisk until the sugar and cornstarch is dissolved.
Place the pot over medium heat, whisking continuously for 4-5 min until starting to thicken.
Reduce the heat to low and continue whisking for 1-2 min further until thickened to a pudding consistency that coats the back of a spoon.
Remove from the heat.
Add the orangeblossomwater and whisk through.
3 Refrigerate
Remove and discard the cardamompods and any seeds.
Portion the creamy pudding into individual cups or glasses, as preferred.
Cover with cling film, ensuring the cling film touches the surface of the pudding to avoid forming a skin.
Refrigerate for 2-3 hours to set.
Tip!Discard the cardamom pods
4 Serve
When ready to serve, remove from the fridge and discard the cling film.
Serve the Mahalabia garnished with SlicedPistachios.
