Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Prep
Peel and finely chop the redonion.
Peel and mince the garlic.
Deseed and finely chop the yellowpepper.
Finely chop the celery.
2 Chop chicken
Chop the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
3 Fry
Heat a large pot over a medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
Once hot, add the chicken, onion, peppers and celery with a pinch of salt.
Fry for 5 min.
Tip!If cooking for kids, fry a portion of the chicken and peppers first and set aside.
4 Add spices
After 5 min, add the garlic, cajunspice(spicy!), driedoregano, driedthyme and driedbayleaves.
Fry for 1 min further.
5 Add pasta
Add the 0.5 chickenstockcube, tomatopassata, measuredwater and brownsugar.
Bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, add the farfallepasta.
Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 13-15 min or until the pasta is 'al dente' or cooked to your liking.
Tip!If cooking for kids, separately boil a plain portion of pasta for 12 min or until cooked to their liking.
6 Serve
Meanwhile, pick and finely chop the parsley leaves.
Once the pasta is cooked, stir through half the parsley.
Serve the One-pot Chicken 'Pastalaya': CajunChicken with Farfalle Pasta.
Season with a generous grind of pepper to taste.
Garnish with the remaining parsley.
Tip!If cooking for kids, serve the cooked chicken, peppers and pasta separately. Serve the parsley as 'sprinkles' to the side.
