Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Cook rice
Rinse and drain the rice.
Add the rice, a pinch of salt and the measuredwater to a pot with a lid and bring to a boil over a high heat.
Lower heat, cover and cook for 12-14 min, until rice is tender.
Remove from the heat and keep covered until serving.
2 Prep
Clean the mushrooms with a cloth, knife or brush (don't wash them with water), then slice into quarters.
Deseed and chop the redpepper.
Peel and finely chop the brownonion and garlic.
Chop the chickenbreast into bite-sized pieces.
3 Fry
Heat a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add the butter and onion and fry for 2-3 min until softened.
Add the chicken with a pinch of salt, pepper, and thyme (to taste) and fry for 4-5 min.
Add the garlic, mushroom, and redpepper and fry for 3-4 min further.
4 Add
Once the vegetables soften, add the flour, and 0.5 chickenstockcube.
Cook, stirring continuously for 1 min or until a paste has formed.
5 Finish stew
Stir in the water, whippingcream, Worcestershiresauce, and peas.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium, cover with a lid and cook for 4-5 min until the stew thickens.
6 Serve
Meanwhile, pick and finely chop the parsley, and stir into the finished sauce.
Serve the Chicken a la King on a bed or warm rice.
