Instructions

Make patties

1 Make patties

  • Pick and finely chop the parsley.
  • Peel and finely chop or grate the onion.
  • To a large mixing bowl, add the beef, parsley, panko bread crumbs, grated parmesan, mustard, ketchup, a pinch of salt and pepper, and half of the onion (reserve the rest for step 4).
  • With clean hands, knead until all the ingredients are fully combined.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 pieces. Shape each piece into a burger patty.
Tip! Overmixing the beef mince can make the patties heavy and dense. To avoid this, just gently mix until the ingredients are combined.
Fry patties

2 Fry patties

  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Once hot, fry the patties for 5 min on each side or until browned and cooked through.
  • Reserve the pan for the mushroom sauce.
Prep

3 Prep

  • Meanwhile, clean the mushrooms with a cloth, knife or brush (don't wash them).
  • Roughly chop, tear, or slice the mushrooms.
  • Trim the green beans.
  • Slice the cherry tomatoes in half.
Make mushroom sauce

4 Make mushroom sauce

  • Heat the reserved pan over a medium-high heat with a small drizzle of oil.
  • Fry the remaining onions and mushrooms for 4-5 min or until browned.
  • Add the flour and cook for 1 min until it forms a paste.
  • Add the cream cheese, Worcestershire, measured water, and a pinch of black pepper and thyme to taste.
  • Simmer for 3-4 min until the sauce thickens.
Tip! Cutting back on salt? leave out the stock cube.
Boil

5 Boil

  • Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the green beans in the pot for 3-4 min or until tender. Drain.
Serve

6 Serve

  • Serve the Salisbury Beef Patties and top with the Mushroom Gravy with the Green Beans and Cherry Tomatoes to the side.
