Instructions
1 Make patties
Pick and finely chop the parsley.
Peel and finely chop or grate the onion.
To a large mixing bowl, add the beef, parsley, pankobreadcrumbs, grated parmesan, mustard, ketchup, a pinch of salt and pepper, and half of the onion (reserve the rest for step 4).
With clean hands, knead until all the ingredients are fully combined.
Divide the mixture into 4 pieces. Shape each piece into a burger patty.
Tip!Overmixing the beef mince can make the patties heavy and dense. To avoid this, just gently mix until the ingredients are combined.
2 Fry patties
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil.
Once hot, fry the patties for 5 min on each side or until browned and cooked through.
Reserve the pan for the mushroomsauce.
3 Prep
Meanwhile, clean the mushrooms with a cloth, knife or brush (don't wash them).
Roughly chop, tear, or slice the mushrooms.
Trim the greenbeans.
Slice the cherrytomatoes in half.
4 Make mushroom sauce
Heat the reserved pan over a medium-high heat with a small drizzle of oil.
Fry the remaining onions and mushrooms for 4-5 min or until browned.
Add the flour and cook for 1 min until it forms a paste.
Add the creamcheese, Worcestershire, measured water, and a pinch of black pepper and thyme to taste.
Simmer for 3-4 min until the sauce thickens.
Tip!Cutting back on salt? leave out the stock cube.
5 Boil
Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the green beans in the pot for 3-4 min or until tender. Drain.
6 Serve
Serve the Salisbury Beef Patties and top with the Mushroom Gravy with the Green Beans and Cherry Tomatoes to the side.
