Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Boil rice
Rinse the sushi rice in a sieve under cold water until the water runs clear.
Add the sushi rice, a pinch of salt and the measuredwater to a pot with a lid.
Bring to a boil over high heat.
Once boiling, lower the heat and cover with a lid.
Cook for 15 min or until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
Once cooked, remove the pot from the heat.
Once the rice has cooled slightly, fold in 15 ml rice vinegar.
2 Prep
Meanwhile, peel and grate the carrot.
Finely chop the springonion.
Finely slice the radishes.
3 Make marinade
In a large bowl, combine the soysauce, sweetsoysauce, sesameoil, blacksesameseeds, springonion (reserving a handful for garnishing), ricevinegar and a pinch of chilliflakes(spicy!).
Set the marinade aside.
4 Fry tuna
Meanwhile, pat the tunasteaks dry with paper towel.
Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat with a drizzle of oil.
Fry the tuna steaks for 3-4 min on each side (for a medium or pink center).
Transfer the tuna steaks to a plate to rest for 2-3 min.
Tip!Prefer a more well done tuna? Cook it for an extra minute on each side.
5 Marinate tuna
Thinly slice the tunasteaks.
Add to the marinade and allow to sit while the bowl is assembled.
6 Serve
Slice the avocado in half and remove the stone.
Cut into this slices and use a spoon to remove the avocado flesh from the skin.
Serve the SearedTuna on a bed of SushiRice.
Add avocado, edamamebeans, carrot and radish slices.
Top with the sushiginger and norisheets.
Drizzle with remaining marinade and any reserved springonion.
