Simple Beef Gratin

with Broccoli and Cauliflower

Instructions

1 Prep veggies

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Peel and mince onion and garlic. Separate cauliflower and broccoli to florets.

2 Cook cauliflower

Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook cauliflower for 5 minutes.

3 Cook broccoli

Add broccoli and cook for 3 minutes. Drain, and transfer to a roasting dish.

4 Make meat sauce

Dice tomatoes. Fry minced beef in a pan over high heat with oil. Reduce the heat to medium-high and add onion and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, cream, water, salt, thyme, and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer lightly for 10 minutes.

5 Bake

Pour the meat sauce on the veggies. Top with grated mozzarella. Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and serve.

Tips for fussy eaters

Cook a few potatoes and add them on the oven tray.

Pro tip

Use a steamer for the vegetables if you have one!
