Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Prep
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
Peel and grate the carrot.
Break the lasagnasheets into smaller pieces.
Tip!It's easier to break the lasagna sheets lengthways - split into long or smaller pieces to your liking!
2 Fry vegetables
Heat a large pan, or pot, with a lid over a medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil.
Once hot, add the onions, carrot and garlic with a pinch of salt.
Fry for 4-5 min until softened and beginning to caramelise.
3 Fry beef
Add the beefmince and cook for 4-5 min further, breaking it up with a rubber spatula.
Add the tomatopaste, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and 0.5 beefstockcube .
Cook for 1-2 min further.
4 Simmer
Add the sugar, peeledplumtomatoes (breaking them up with a wooden spoon), driedthyme, oregano and measured water.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 5-10 min.
Tip!Stew the sauce for as long as possible (even up to an hour) for extra flavour.
5 Add pasta
Add the broken lasagna and stir gently to submerge. If needed, add splashes of water.
Bring to a boil and while stirring.
Lower the heat, cover with a lid and simmer for 10-15 min until 'al dente' or cooked to your liking.
Adjust the seasoning to taste.
Tip!Make sure to keep distance between the lasagna pieces so they don't stick. Stir the pasta a few times to ensure even cooking.
6 Serve
Pick the basilleaves.
Top the bolognese with freshbasilleaves and gratedmozzarella.
Cover for 1 min to melt the cheese.
