Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.

Instructions

Prep

1 Prep

  • Finely shred the cabbage.
  • Peel and cut the carrot into matchsticks or use a grater.
  • Cut the cucumber into matchsticks.
  • Trim the base of the pak choi and cut in half.
Boil rice

2 Boil rice

  • Rinse and drain the rice.
  • Add the rice, a pinch of salt and the measured water to a pot with a lid.
  • Bring to a boil over a high heat.
  • Lower heat, cover and cook for 12-14 min, until the rice is tender.
  • Add the edamame beans and mix through.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Remove from the heat and keep covered until serving.
Make salad

3 Make salad

  • In a bowl, mix together the cabbage, carrot, cucumber and sesame dressing.
  • Keep chilled in the fridge.
Fry steak and pak choi

4 Fry steak and pak choi

  • Pat the steaks dry with kitchen paper.
  • Rub with oil and season with salt.
  • Heat a large pan over high heat.
  • Once very hot, fry the steaks for 2-4 min on each side until cooked as preferred.
  • After flipping, add the pak choi and fry with the steaks for 2 min.
  • Sprinkle all over with garlic powder and pepper.
  • Transfer the steaks and pak choi to a plate and leave to rest.
  • Reserve the pan with the pan juices.
Make sauce

5 Make sauce

  • Return the pan to medium-high heat.
  • Toast the sesame seeds for 30 sec.
  • Mix in the teriyaki sauce, and measured water.
  • Cook for 1-2 min until reduced and thickened.
Serve

6 Serve

  • Thinly slice the steak.
  • Serve the Teriyaki Steak Donburi Rice Bowl with Sesame Salad, Pak Choi & Sushi Ginger.
  • Drizzle the teriyaki sauce over the steak.
