Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Make patties
In a large bowl, mix together the beefmince, garliconionpowder, smokedseasalt and blackpepper.
With clean hands, knead until all the ingredients are fully combined.
Divide the mixture into 4 pieces, and shape each piece into a burger patty.
2 Prep
Peel and slice the carrots into batons.
Trim the greenbeans and chop them in half.
Peel and finely chop the garlic.
3 Boil vegetables
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Once boiling, add the carrots and cook for 5 min.
Add the greenbeans and cook for 3 min further.
Drain and set aside.
Reserve the pot.
4 Fry patties
Meanwhile, heat a large non-stick pan over a medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
Once hot, add the patties and fry for 2-4 min on each side or until browned and cooked through.
Transfer the patties to a plate and reserve the pan.
Drain any excess oil from the pan.
5 Make roux
Meanwhile, boil the measured water.
In a jug, combine the measured water, beef stock, 0.5 stockcube, Worcestershire sauce, onion marmalade and thyme - this is your stock.
Return the pan to a medium heat with a drizzle of oil.
Add the cornstarch and stir for 1 min.
Gradually whisk in the stock.
Simmer over a medium-low heat for 3-5 min or until the gravy begins to thicken.
Season with blackpepper.
Remove from the heat, cover and keep warm.
6 Serve
Meanwhile, return the pot to a medium heat with the butter.
Once melted, add the garlic and fry for 1 min.
Remove from the heat and add the greenbeans, carrots, grated Parmesan, salt and pepper.
Mix.
Plate the patties and pour over the gravy and serve the garlicParmesanvegetables alongside.
