Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Prep
Preheat the oven to 220°C/200°C fan.
Preheat your baking trays.
Chop the cherrytomatoes in half.
Create a heart-shaped stencil out of paper (the stencil should be able to fit within the salamislices).
Place the stencil over the top of a piece of salami and using scissors cut around the stencil to form heart shapes.
Repeat with all of the salami.
2 Make sauce
In a bowl, combine the tomato passata, olive oil, garlic powder, dried oregano and brown sugar with the salt.
This is the tomatosauce.
Tip!Remove the pizza dough from the fridge at least 10 min before cooking. Allowing the dough to come to room temperature makes it easier to roll out.
3 Roll pizza
Sprinkle half of the semolina onto a clean surface.
Sprinkle the flour onto a rolling pin and roll out the doughballs, then allow them to rest for 3 min.
After 3 min, continue to roll out the dough into a circle roughly the size of a dinner plate.
4 Shape
Pinch the bottom of each dough circle and pull down slightly to elongate and create the bottom of the heart.
Push down and pinch the top of the dough to form the top of the heart.
Using your hands smoothen the edges of the now heart-shapeddough.
Sprinkle the remaining semolina onto a baking tray.
Carefully transfer the heart-shaped dough to the baking tray.
5 Top
Spoon over the tomatosauce.
Top the pizza base with the gratedmozzarella.
Place the pepperoni hearts and cherrytomatoes on top.
6 Bake
Brush the crust with olive oil.
Bake for 15-20 min or until the crust begins to crisp and brown.
Meanwhile, combine the sourcream and pesto in a bowl.
Serve the Valentine's Day Pepperoni Pizza with the RedPestoDip on the side.
