Before you start
Please wash your hands and rinse all fresh fruits and vegetables prior to cooking.
Instructions
1 Fry beef
Remove the beef strips from the fridge 30 mins before cooking. Open the packet and pat them dry with a kitchen paper. Heat oil in a pan over high heat. Once hot, add the beef strips. Fry for 3-4 minutes until browned, season with paprika, salt and pepper. Keep aside.
2 Prep and fry
Peel and chop shallots, garlic and red pepper. Toss the vegetables in the pan. Fry until the shallots and peppers are soft (4-5 minutes)
3 Add
Add the water and chopped tomatoes.
4 Simmer
Toss the meat back on the pan and add the beef stock cube and bay leaf. Bring to boil and reduce the heat to allow a simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes.
5 Boil
Meanwhile, pour 2 centimeters of water to the bottom of a pot. Bring to boil and add the broccoli. Cover with a lid and allow to steam for 5-7 minutes. Once the sauce has reduced and the meat is nice and tender, serve the casserole with crunchy broccoli.
